Oscar Toloza
Oscar Toloza (b. 1992, Reseda, CA) is a Salvadoran-American painter based in Indianapolis. Raised in Logansport, IN, his early passion for video games, music, and self-taught artistry fueled a creative drive that eventually led him to fully commit to visual art in 2019. Working across acrylics, oils, graphite, spray paint, and tattooing, his work explores perseverance, animal instincts, and humanity’s bond with nature, blending surreal dreamscapes with vivid colors.
Inspired by Eastern art and pre-Hispanic traditions, Oscar seeks to bridge past and present, creating a space for those caught between cultures. He has been able to fuse his love of music by live-painting at festivals like WAKAAN and DERPFEST. After having two successful solo shows in Lafayette and Indianapolis this year, he is now finishing his apprenticeship with LAMP (Latino Artist Mentorship Program) which will conclude with a group show at the Eitlejorg in Indianapolis.
