Polin Monjares
Hipolito “Polin” Monjares is a Mexican artist focused on using recycled materials to create sculptures. Polin was interested in art from an early age and explored traditional mediums in his early life. He later became interested in sculpture and taught himself most of the skills he currently uses.
Polin was under the custody of ICE in 2022 for a year and a half and during that time a lot of this artwork was stolen or recycled. Still, he continues to create art despite this and other setbacks, happy to be able to work on projects that bring him satisfaction and that he is able to share with the public. His future goals are to have a studio space and be able to teach different courses and share his knowledge with everyone.
