Maximino Eslava
Maximino Eslava is a Mexican-American photographer based in Indianapolis, IN. His creative journey began with a pile of crayons and markers, where he did his best to use as many colors as he could to complete the images he imagined. As a teen, he found an appreciation for photography, a medium that connected him to his own family history, as his grandfather also shared this passion. Through photography, Maximino aims to capture feelings and moments within images and portray the essence of a person.
Accessibility and community are just some of the factors he considers when diving into a project. He has worked with nonprofits to provide programming that allows creatives the opportunity to learn and connect. This has allowed him to showcase his portraits at Creatives in Color: The Art Show. A show that focuses on bringing diverse Indianapolis artists from many backgrounds to share a space and celebrate their talents together.
At this time, Maximino is continuing to work with nonprofits to create more opportunities and connections within the creative community. As for his own photography journey, he aims to venture further into film photography and art direction in his portrait work.
