Papel Picado connects me to my Mexican heritage through the creative process of paper cutting, cultural memory and most recently, light & shadow. My creative practice honors my indigenous Mexican ancestry, focusing on cultural knowledge, teaching handcrafted skills and bringing awareness of original Mexican communities preserving ancient folkloric art.
